After a gruelling screening that showcased the innate beauty of Ilongas, Casino Filipino (CF) Iloilo picked its representatives to this year’s Miss Casino Filipino 2014 nationwide beauty pageant.

Nurse Eiseley Kyle Pragados and Business Administration students Jenny Babe Puda and Zairah Marie Agsaluna bested seven other semi-finalists in the Miss Casino Filipino 2014’s regional screening in Iloilo. The three lovely ladies stood out from the 20 qualifiers in the beauty competition.

Despite her very hectic schedule from Mondays to Saturdays, Pragados, who is a private nurse to a 77-old patient, tried her luck at the Miss Casino Filipino regional screening in Iloilo.

“I begged for a day off to be able to join this competition. This is one of the biggest beauty pageants in Iloilo and it gives winners a chance to compete in the national level during the grand finals in Manila. This may be the last time that I will be joining a beauty contest so I am thankful that I was able to go this far,” Pragados shared.

According to Pragados, she is waiting for the result of her job application as a nurse in Saudi Arabia. “If luck will be on my side, I will be able to find better employment opportunities abroad,” she added.

As a healthcare worker, Pragados advocates health education. “I want to help people to take care of their health. It is more important than anything else,” she stressed.

Meanwhile, Jenny Babe Puda, a graduating Business Administration student at the West Visayas State University is grateful that PAGCOR chose Iloilo as one of the regional screening venues of the Miss Casino Filipino 2014.

“This pageant helped me boost my self-confidence. It also reminded me to never give up on my dreams because though I did not make it in some of the previous pageants that I joined, I made it to this one,” Puda cited.

Puda advocates tourism promotion to showcase to the world the best that the Philippines has to offer to tourists.

Likewise, Zairah Marie Agsaluna, a 2nd year Business Administration student at the Northern Iloilo Polytechnic College believes that the Miss Casino Filipino pageant can help her move closer to her dream of succeeding in life.

With her parents working overseas, Agsaluna plays the dual role of mother and father to her two other siblings. Although they live with their grandmother, she longs for a complete and happy family. “My parents are separated. My father is a piping foreman in the United Arab Emirates while my mother works as a cashier in a restaurant in Malaysia,” Agsaluna shared.

Winning the Miss Casino Filipino screening in Iloilo gave Agsaluna more inspiration to remain resilient. “This pageant is very challenging but it made me stronger. It allows me to expand my horizons and believe in my talent,” she said.

Agsaluna advocates environmental preservation. She believes that saving the environment is tantamount to saving the lives of future generations.

Apart from making it to the top three, Agsaluna was also named the Best in Swimsuit. Pragados won Best in Long Gown and Mary Charmange Carton was Best in Talent. The top three regional winners received P15,000 cash each.

Now on its 4th year, the Miss Casino Filipino nationwide beauty search has been honoring modern-day Filipinas who possess wit, charm, beauty and the heart for service.

The Miss Casino Filipino 2014 grand winner will receive P500,000 in cash while runners-up will take home the following cash prizes: P400,000 (1st); P300,000 (2nd); P200,000 (3rd); and P100,000 (4th).

Apart from her prize, the winner of Miss Casino Filipino 2014 will also receive from PAGCOR a P200,000 cash donation to her chosen charitable institution.
