Chad Borja and The Grand Stage of PAGCOR Tagaytay

Chad Borja opened up to the PAGCOR Tagaytay’s main gaming hall crowd saying “Hindi po ako si Gibo” referring to the recent presidential elections candidate. There was laughter that followed. Then he went on all business covering Frank Sinatra, Burt Bacharach among others, songs branded almost unfairly as “standards”, because he sings it beyond “standard”.

PAGCOR Tagaytay has one of the biggest stages. The hall is a challenge in terms of filling it with music, albeit a single voice. This is the appeal to performers with a calibre like Borja and the like, just so they could take on the challenge.

Team AFP enjoys “Flow”

Once again, the country’s gallant men and women in uniform filled the PAGCOR Grand Theater as the the Armed Forces of the Philippines, headed by its Chief of Staff, General Victor S. Ibrado, sponsored the showing of ‘Flow.’ It was the AFP leadership’s Christmas gift for the three branches of military service and the General Headquarters.

FLOW is PAGCOR’s much-acclaimed and bestselling show featuring the elements of theater, musical and acrobatics.

The Deputy Chief of Staff, Vice Admiral Emilio C. Marayag, represented Gen. Ibrado who was attending a Senate Hearing that afternoon.

In the message of Gen. Ibrado read by Vice Admiral Marayag , the AFP leadership thanked the PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Efraim Genuino for once again inviting them to the show.

“At this point in time we would like to thank PAGCOR Chairman and CEO, Mr. Efraim C. Genuino. Marami pong salamat sa wala ninyong sawa pagsuporta sa Sandatahang Lakas ng Pilipinas. We laud your efforts in Philippine Entertainment and we congratulate you, together with all the cast and staff of “Flow” for another successful feat, all in the name of providing world-class entertainment for all Filipinos. Your gesture this afternoon certainly strengthens our partnership and you can likewise expect us to be continually working with you in your noble cause for the advancement of the Filipino people,” the speech stated.

Overall, those who watched the show included 400 members of the Philippine Army, 150 members of the Philippine Air Force, 150 from the Philippine Navy, 275 from the General Headquarters and 25 recipients of the AFP Educational Beneficiary Scholarship Organization (AFPEBSO).

The AFP has been a regular client of the PAGCOR shows “Flow” and “Wanders”. Since December 2008, they booked five shows which more than 5000 brave soldiers of the country thoroughly enjoyed.

Pagcor Parañaque Branch Manager Tomas Consolacion, Jr.,who welcomed the AFP contingent, said in his speech: “The AFP family has been dear to us. We are so pleased that that in a brief moment like this afternoon, we are able to take away the demands that comes with your profession. I am aware that in the recent weeks, gruesome incidents that happened in our country gave you an added burden.”

BM Consolacion also thanked the AFP family for their continued support to the PAGCOR shows.

Indeed, that afternoon’s event showed the strength of the partnership of the Team AFP and Team PAGCOR. After all, both branches of government have a common vision, which is the welfare of the nation.
